The entire family of late Mama Olufunmilayo Olowu (Nee Adeniyi) has concluded plans to bury their dearly beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunty who slept in the Lord on Sunday 3^rd January, 2021 at the age of 70 years.

 

The amiable late Mama Olufunmilayo Olowu is from the industrious and popular Adeniyi family in Ijebu Ode. She was married to her better half Mr. Agbolade Olowu and they are blessed with 3 loving and caring children and many grandchildren in Nigeria and abroad.

 

Those who should know disclosed that late Mama Olufunmilayo Olowu was very generous and she was an exemplary community and church leader. She would definitely be missed in her community, revealed a close associate.

 

The burial ceremony would be attended by crème-dele-crème, friends, associates and well-wishers to add colour to the lined up activities to bury Mama in grand-style.

 

According to the information made available, the Christian Wake would take place on Thursday 15^th April 2021 at St. Joseph’s Anglican Church, Arapaja, Odo-Ona Kekere, Ibadan by 4p.m and the Funeral Service also billed for Friday 16^th April 2021 at St. Joseph’s Anglican Church, Arapaja, Odo-OnaKekere, Ibadan by 11a.m prompt. Only invited guests are welcome. 

 

Checks revealed that many people from different walks of life will be coming from Europe, South Africa and Canada  to felicitate with the family as part of the plans to make the event memorable and give late Mama Olufunmilayo Olowu a befitting burial she deserves.

 

The interment follows at St. James Cemetery, Ijokodo Ibadan to lay Mama’s soul to rest in perfect peace.

 

However, as part of the new guidance to keep safe during this pandemic period, all COVID-19 protocols will be enforced to make the burial ceremony a huge success and maximum security guaranteed.

Good News! CSO Backs Gov. Matawalle’s Dialogue Approach To Tackle Insecurity

 

  

A Civil Society Organisation, CSO, called Competent Governance for Accountability and Civic Trust, CGACT, on Monday, backed Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Matawale, on approach to tackle insecurity plaguing the State.

This was the stand of CGACT’s Convener, Amb Adebayo Michael, during a press conference held in Abuja, on the worrisome plight of insecurity in the country.

 

According to Michael who commended the Governor for taking the initiative to address the protracted issue of insecurity in his State said dialogue is one of the best methods to drastically reduce insurgency, banditry, kidnapping, and other violent crimes.

 

He also explained that peacebuilding does not happen in one day but it is a continuous thing as more stakeholders are involved in the process until everybody is brought on board to talk and express themselves in order to know and understand their agitation.

He also added that peacebuilding being a long-term process demands persuasion of parties involved to embrace dialogue, rebuild the broken relationship, build mutual trust, strengthen relevant institutions that foster peace, give parties sense of belonging, agreements signed if necessary, and other things put in place before lasting peace could be achieved to end the violence.

 

He also spoke on the recent visit by renowned Islamic Scholar, Sheikh Ahmad Abubakar Gumi to hideouts of bandits was a positive step in the right direction as far as dialogue is concerned.

He (Michael) commended Sheikh Gumi for that move as it is yielding positive results, contrary to the protest and accusation against the Governor in some sections of conventional and social media platforms.

 

He said: “An online media recently accused the Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Matawale, of sponsoring the said bandits thereby alleging the Governor bought Hilux vehicles worth millions as a gift to the bandits after much verification and facts findings by the Competent Governance for Accountability and Civic Trust discovered the various allegations to be imaginary and cheap blackmail to rubbish a performing patriot and a seasoned Governor who has dedicated his all to the State and service to humanity whom should be commended and rewarded for dedicating his best to the growth and well being of Zamfara people since his assumption in office.

“It will be recalled that the lasting peace in the Niger Delta region won’t have been possible without dialogue through the idea of the then Commander-in-Chief,  President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua who in his magnanimity gave the dialogue a chance to the then militants in the Niger Delta region thereby bringing peace which gave the militants Amnesty.

 

“We, therefore, implore all relevant stakeholders in the country to support the transformational dialogue drive and peace build process been explored by the laudable feat attained in the recent peace engagement advocacy been adopted by his Excellency, the ever dogged and dynamic Governor of Zamfara State, which has been yielding results.”

He also said that “Peace in the world over is the best thing to happen to any nation as Nigeria is been bedeviled with series of crisis and security challenges in recent times.

 

“The President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration is geared towards fighting corruption, tackling security issues as well as diversifying the economy to grow the revenue base to meet pressing development needs that would lead to job creation for Nigerians and uniting the country.”

Information available revealed that a source close to the former Governor of Zamfara State, Abdul Aziz Abubakar Yari, has disclosed that the sum of N100 million Naira was given to Zamfara State APC factional leader, distinguished Senator Kabiru Marafa, by the former Governor Abdul Aziz Abubakar Yari, to agree with the just concluded  conditional meetings between the ranks of the party in the state.

The source who pleaded anonymity said that, the two notable indigene of the gold rich State are bent on destabilizing the present administration of governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle ahead of 2023 general elections.

The source said; "Out of the 100m received from the Ex-Governor, Senator Marafa gave out the sum of 50 million Naira to his factional party chairman Alh. Surajo Garba Maikatako, to mobilize their followers and some hoodlums to destabilize the present administration of governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle".

Recalled that, Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle inherited a very terrible state of insecurity, huge bank loans, infrastructural decays, outstanding civil servants wages and other forms of misappropriation from the former Governor, Abdul Aziz Abubakar Yari.

Another APC supporter Malam Abdu from Dansadau (under Maru local government) said, "the former governor Abdul Aziz Abubakar Yari had never for a day come to sympathize with us with the series of attacks we experienced. Neither did he sent any relieve materials when he was the governor.

A strong PDP supporter in Zamfara State known as Aminu Lecturer Kaura, call the attention of the former Governor of Zamfara State, Abdul Aziz Yari Abubakar to please stop parading himself as the leader of APC in Zamfara.

"Lecturer made this public with Bell Media and Films correspondent, through a phone conversation on Sunday 24, January 2021 at about 3:48 pm.

"Aminu, reminds the former Governor that, the APC constitution only recognized Hajiya Sa'adiya Umar Faruk as the constitutionally APC leader in Zamfara State, therefore, failure to recognize Hajiya Sa'adiya will amount to the violation of APC constitution and gender robbery.

Similarly, "Lecturer wondered why Zamfara State APC should allowed Yari to be parading himself as the leader of the party, knowing fully well that the constitution prohibits him to do so.
