Veteran filmmaker and producer, Chief Dr. Mrs. Oluwayemisi Adesqueen Jayeola, has announced her return to active content production with plans to launch a new slate of digital projects aimed at reshaping narratives on social media.
Widely known in Nollywood as the ‘marketer-producer’, Jayeola built her reputation through decades of work in the Yoruba film industry before establishing AdesqueenTV, a content platform that combined personal creativity with motivational storytelling. The platform gained traction for its inspirational videos, many of which were widely replicated across social platforms.
Industry reports have consistently recognised her as a key contributor to the growth of African cinema. Unlike several contemporaries who exited the scene, Jayeola maintained relevance by evolving her craft and sustaining audience engagement.
Speaking on her return, the producer said her focus has shifted to digital storytelling that addresses pressing societal themes. “I am committed to delivering exceptional content that challenges the status quo, the same way we engaged audiences in film,” she said. “This new phase will tackle issues of faith, relationships, and social responsibility while prioritising impact.”
Sources close to the project say early development points to a blend of traditional Yoruba cultural elements with contemporary formats designed for global audiences. Jayeola’s previous work has been credited with both entertaining and educating viewers, earning her international recognition for cultural preservation.
Described by industry watchers as “a creator with a heart of gold,” Jayeola insists the goal is beyond virality. “Content should make the world better. That is the standard we are setting,” she added.
